Why come to camp?

Every July, all camp members, Campers and Carers, descend on the Glan-yr-Afon campsite in North Wales. Many of the Campers return year after year to enjoy the unique time they have together. Without the Campers the whole camp wouldn’t take place, but without the Carers, the camp couldn’t take place.

If you would like to become a Carer, please download and complete the Application Form and References Form linked below:

The main aims of Special Needs Camp are:

  • 1. To give people with disabilities a good holiday
  • 2. To give a weeks respite to their Carers
  • 3. To show support to families who care for a disabled person
  • 4. To show that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a caring one
  • 5. To provide time and opportunity to make one to one relationships
  • 6. To show Jesus to the Campers, and to let them know where He can be found
  • 7. To give people who do not work with disabled people the opportunity to do so
  • 8. To give trained and qualified people the opportunity to share their skills
